Right to Information mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information The basic premise behind the right to information is that, since Government is ‘for the people’; it should be open and accountable and should have nothing to conceal from the people it purports to represent. These are intended to promote accountability and transparency in Government by making the process of government decision-making more open.
The citizen seeking the information need not necessarily be from the same State and having knowledge of the language spoken or adopted in the system there. He has to have the translated version, that too within the time frame and without eliminating any clauses or even words. We do this as per demand and to the satisfaction of all concerned.
